Blaklash partnered with LatStudios, USC, and the broader project team to engage with Traditional Custodians, uncovering stories of Country and identifying community priorities
These insights were integrated into the masterplan, ensuring the project’s outcomes reflected the community's interests.
Community engagement included sessions with USC Sippy Downs’ Elder in Residence, Aunty Beverley Hand, and broader Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi Traditional Custodian representation.
Multiple touchpoints throughout the project ensured consistent community involvement, allowing for meaningful contributions to the masterplan at key stages.
The masterplan envisions a welcoming, inclusive campus that champions First Nations culture and knowledge, fostering continued learning and exploration for all.
Through culturally responsive education, research, community engagement and design we aim to create a masterplan that provides a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are empowered leaders, innovators, and catalysts for positive change here on Kabi Kabi Country and beyond.
